I know I am a bit late with this post. It’s better late than never though, right? My roommate and I decided to give up unhealthy snacking for lent. That’s right, even when we have the late night munchies. Will we succeed? Only time will tell. So far so good though!
As I was talking to my mom yesterday about lent, she brought up a wise point about how it’s not about what you are giving up. Lent seems to have become all about ourselves. We give up food to be healthier or lose weight, but that’s not what lent is about. As my mom said, it is about spiritual discipline. It is a time for repentance and reflection on the birth, death, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
So, in light of this realization, I decided to take on the task of reading the New Testament during the 40 days of Lent. I was inspired by my friends and family to take on this challenge and I just so happened to find more words of encouragement in the scripture I read today…
Here is the link to the plan that I am following to read the New Testament in 40 days. Have a blessed day!
